Visit the food market of Crevillent
One of the most characteristic and prominent elements of any town, large or small, is the market, a meeting place for the population, not only from an economic and commercial point of view, but also as a place where a large part of daily life unfolds.
The actual food market is part of the urban center and is located in an emblematic place for the history of our municipality. On the site on which the building is located was the old church of Nuestra Señora de Belén, formerly a Muslim mosque. Therefore, during medieval times it was also the center of the Muslim population: a place of prayer and probably in its surroundings – as today – the weekly market would be held.
