”El Hondo” Natural Parc

Parque Natural El Hondo is a protected natural space located between Crevillent and Elche.

It is considered one of the main humid areas in Comunidad Valenciana. It features an extraordinary ecological value due to the abundance and diversity of birds which habite it, in addition to the plain tigers and fishes in danger of extinction as “el fartet”. Furthermore, it has a great scenic value, composed of salt fields and palm groves.

El Hondo Nature Park Information Center is located in the municipality of Crevillent, very close to the district of San Felipe Neri. It is equipped with a permanent exhibition on the natural and cultural values of this natural space, as well as an audiovisual room. Next to the center there is a recreational area equipped with adapted tables, wastebaskets and services.

Several paths and footbridges form the route. There are observatories where you can discover the different corners of the park and the activity of the uncountable birds which float on the lakes.
